Pump & Tote Tips

PACKING:

• Packing information can be found here.
• Please note, the large Pump & Tote cooler will fit sideways into your tote bag. As long as your milk storage bags and cooler are sealed properly, this is normal and will not affect your milk.

Milk Stork coolers are designed to maintain the refrigerated temperature of your breast milk while it is transit to its final destination. We recommend that you activate the cooling unit and then pack your refrigerated milk into the cooler all at once.

To maintain the internal temperature of the cooler once it is packed, please refrain from opening the cooler as much as possible. 

KNOW THE RULES & YOUR RIGHTS:

• Review TSA's regulations for traveling with breast milk: www.tsa.gov/travel/special-procedures/traveling-children.
• Breast milk, as well as ice packs, freezer packs, frozen gel packs and other accessories required to keep breast milk cold, are permitted by TSA.
• You are not required to put your breast milk through the X-ray machine, but YOU AND YOUR LUGGAGE WILL BE SUBJECT TO ADDITIONAL SCREENING.
• Milk Stork Pump & Totes are considered carry-ons.

TSA & YOUR MILK STORK COOLER:

• Notify TSA that you are traveling with breast milk.
• YOUR MILK STORK COOLER AND YOUR BREAST MILK WILL BE INSPECTED BY TSA.
• Milk Stork Pump & Totes DO NOT CONTAIN DRY ICE or ice, nor do they contain any hazardous materials.
• If you have sealed your cooler with the circular packing seals, TSA may break the seals to inspect the cooler whether it is a carry-on or checked as (or with) luggage.
• Following inspection, replace the cooling unit and close the cooler. To maintain refrigerated temperature, keep the cooler closed for the duration of your travel.
• If you check your Milk Stork cooler as luggage, it is likely to be X-rayed and it may be inspected without you being present.
• If the cooler is packed in your luggage, your suitcase may also be inspected.
• Allow extra time in your travel plans to accommodate these additional security inspections.

Milk Stork is not responsible for damage or loss to the cooler or your breast milk caused by the airline security inspection process and/or airline baggage handling, if traveling with your cooler. Additionally, Milk Stork is not responsible for inconsistent or incorrect enforcement of breast milk travel regulations or inspection of the Milk Stork cooler in the United States or internationally.
