Got a weather alert email from us? Here's what's up.
We know how important it is to get your milk home to your little one, and we take that seriously. Sometimes though, things outside our control (like severe weather 😔) can cause delays.
If you got an email from us about weather impacts, it's because the National Weather Service issued a severe weather alert affecting Memphis, TN and/or Indianapolis, IN, where FedEx's central hubs are located. Since most express shipments route through these hubs before heading to your area, severe weather there can affect your delivery timeline. We'll keep you posted with daily alerts if disruptions continue.
Flying home with your milk? Here's what to expect at TSA.
Heads up! TSA agents may not see Milk Stork coolers every day, so be prepared for a closer look. Here's what you need to know:
Before you travel:
- You can contact TSA Cares ahead of time to give TSA a heads up that you'll be traveling with breast milk and a Milk Stork cooler — they'll connect you with a trained rep who can walk you through the screening process.
- Print or download a TSA notification card to show agents at the checkpoint.
At the airport:
- Your cooler is safe! Our refrigerated coolers use evaporation technology and our frozen coolers use vacuum-insulated panels. Neither contain hazardous materials like dry ice, so you're good. ✅
- You are not required to put your breast milk through the X-ray machine, but expect some additional screening.
- If a TSA agent says your cooler isn't allowed through — don't panic. Ask for a Supervisory TSA Officer or Passenger Support Specialist. Milk Stork coolers are TSA-approved and absolutely allowed through security.
After your trip:
- Whether your TSA experience was great or not-so-great, consider leaving feedback via the TSA contact form. It helps!
